FREE trees are available to apply for as part of the The Queen’s Green Canopy project celebrating the jubilee of 70 years since Queen Elizabeth II ascended the throne.

Any trees planted from October 2021 to the end of the jubilee year in 2022 can be part of the QGC and be registered. Trees will be delivered around November which is the ideal planting season for many native species.

Community groups, resident associations (TRAs), schools and even groups of neighbours that club together can apply for FREE trees via The Woodland Trust website. The main eligibilty criteria you must satisfy are:

  • you have a site and its map grid reference number (check here)

  • you have the permission from the landowner

Free trees are not guaranteed unfortunately, and applications will approved on their merit. For help on having your application approved check out the project's FAQs page.

If you cannot access the free tree offer, there are subsidised options available through The Woodland Trust that you can find here.

For anyone interested in making an application as a KOV project, or some advice on how to proceed, please send an email to forumkov@gmail.com before the end of June 2021.
